Signature Neo Acts

Violette’s acts range from classic striptease to humorous parody to gender-bending moustaches, and draw from her dance training in latin ballroom and salsa. Have a specific idea or act in mind? Below is a sample of some of Violette's signature neo burlesque acts.

"Elizabethan Love"

The noble bard is well-known for his famous female characters—Ophelia, Katarina, Juliet—although all these roles were originally played by male actors, since it was considered "unseemly" for a woman to be on the stage. In a blasphemous homage, Violette Coquette travels back in time to show us that "unseemly" thing, a woman on the Elizabethan stage. Custom Elizabethan costume by Sweet Carousel Corsetry.

Songs: "The Prince of Denmark's March" (Royal Philharmonic Orchestra), "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" (The Darkness) / Length: 4:00

An ode to Roberta Bondar, Canada's first female astronaut in outer space. Violette tells the true story of Roberta's space escapades, including her close, close encounter with extraterrestrial life.

Songs: "My Heart Will Go On" (Celine Dion), "Get Your Freak On" (Nellie Furtado) / Length: 4:00

"F*ck Hockey"

The "anti" hockey anthem, for all those non-sports fans who couldn't give a flying f*** about hockey. A humorous burlesque piece that strips through multiple Canadian hockey jerseys to get to Violette's true feelings on this most Canadian of sports.

Song: "Smoking Cigarettes and Watching Hockey Night in Canada" (The Royal Winnipeg Porn Orchestra) / Length: 3:41

"The Lone Ranger"

The Lone Ranger is caught off-guard and must ride into the action and fight off unseen foes, with all the suspense and drama one expects from an old Spaghetti Western. Our hero runs out of bullets but a surprise reveal of some hidden guns saves the day!

Song: "Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo (Titoli)" by Ennio Morricone / "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" / Length: 3:09

Colonel Mustard

Violette’s solo act from the production CLUE: A BURLESQUE MURDER MYSTERY, playing Col Mustard.
